Authoring

SAP utilizes Sony Authoring software to create the final Cutting Master. Here we marry the TOC text information with the finished audio and apply Sony's DST (Direct Stream Transfer) loss-less encoding algorithm. It guarantees a bit-for-bit restoration similar to ZIP compression for PC files. This finishes the SACD process, creating the CM ready for replication.

Editing

DSD or PCM audio is handled by our main workstation, the Sonoma DSD Recorder and Editor, where we create high-resolution Surround and Stereo DSD Masters.

Sony SBM Direct software is used for the creation of the PCM Redbook layer in hybrid disks.

Mastering

Surround or Stereo program is done on specially outfitted Sonoma workstations with an Oxford DSD Mixer Card to create a SACD Edit Master.

Recording

We use the Sonoma DSD Editor Recorder capable of handling 8 tracks, with the Meitner AD and DA converters the result is unsurpassed in pristine detail and superb resolution.

Format Conversion

(PCM to DSD or vise-versa) Surround and Stereo is done by the Philips Audio Format Converter and Meitner Converters. Mastered Surround and Stereo PCM or Analog files can be converted into an SACD Cutting Master ready for replication. We are equipped to handle sample rates from 44.1 KHz to 192 KHz in various file formats such as WAV or aiff, in bit rates from 16 to 32, from CD, DAT, Exabyte, AIT, Firewire, SCSI and DVD.
